Modern Sustainable Cottage – Four Cornered Villa by Avanto Architects
April 21st, 2011 - Posted in Villa Design, Wood House DesignFour Cornered Villa, Virrat, Finland, Avanto Architects completed a sustainable lodge in secluded forest environment. Four Cornered Villa by Avanto Architects Ltd is located in a horseshoe -shaped island and facing north and east. Cross- like shape is a simple villa reach of four very different views, open spaces and must at the same time. Treated all black exterior and contrasting interior, sunny pale, with the idea that dark colors will make the building completely disappear when viewed from the lake.
The roof is flat – there is some irony warm to the cliches of modern architecture. The building is well insulated and heated by wood only produce a carbon neutral building. No water and electricity provided by solar. Vegetables and herbs grown on site and Lake Vaskivesi known as a good place to catch the spear – perched. Simple and ascetic life in rural areas differs dramatically from the busy city life and provides the possibility to live with minimal impact to nature.
