Lopez Island Residence by David Vandervort Architects
June 22nd, 2011 - Posted in Architecture, Beach House Design, Featured, House Design, Villa DesignThis is a residence designed by David Vandervort Architects and located in Lopez Island, Washington. The 1800sqf house is surrounded by heavy wood and facing the medium bank water. In order to enjoy the beautiful view everyday, the residence was designed connected to the outdoor via some of the residence’s features such as the deck so that the house can reach the beach, beautiful gardens, and water views.
For the residence is owned by artists, the architects applied a special space of a studio for them working on the upper level connected through an arcade. The daylight is maximally explored to improve the comforts inside the residence. A little bit of Tibetan touches can be seen in the prayer wheel. Overall, the residence shows a perfect performance of island dwelling in modern style. via
