Hotel Villa 1

The hotel villa is a preservation project of a formerly heritage monument in Yessod Hammala first street. Built in the 19th century, the monument now has been refurbished and extended to be commercial space because of the location in a tourist area. To extend the hotel villa, the Uri Cohen Architects created a long corridor that connects to all spaces outside so that it can be perfectly used as commercial space in the future. The refurbishment project will make the hotel villa possible to become a hotel, living units, or a house with commercial space.

The refurbishment and extension of the villa hotel never forgets about the former historic house. It is preserved and the hotel villa’s ground was dug halfway so that the height will not be exceeded the historic house. The split level gets more privacy from the touristy street and the higher space gives more breezes to the hotel villa.

The hotel villa refurbishment is done to the old house by constructing a floating box above the ground floor; giving shade and protection to the living space under it. The ground floor is surrounded by glass walls that enable the inhabitant enjoy the landscape from the hotel villa. The hotel villa is supported by foundation made of typical stone fences in the street. via
