Located on the Civic Center Plaza nearby San Francisco City Hall, the ScrapHouse was designed by Public Architecture to be a green house made from recycled and reused materials entirely. As the program, the green house is certainly eco-friendly and reducing as well as salvaging the used materials.

The reused materials can be seen on one of the green house walls made from vertically stacked 500 phonebooks; it then gives unique surface and becomes eco-friendly insulation for the green house. Another recycled material is found on the chandelier that consists of some discarded lamps.

Even the materials of the green house are entirely salvaged from discarded things piles, with the smart and creative idea of the architect; the house can be good-looking and comfortable as a living space of a single family. The most important is; it successfully becomes a green house that inspires many people to reuse and recycle as well as support go-green campaign to safe the earth. Via
