Kayak House Design Oriented Toward The River by Ogrydziak/Prillinger Architects

It overlooks one of the best walking in Northern California kayak so that it is not surprising that the owner of the kayakers as well. This house was built as close to the river as possible. It is divided in two parts. On the side of the river, there is a dramatic slope down to the water and returned to the foot of the hill on the opposite bank. This side is open to the public because there is always a lot of kayakers floated past. Away from the river, this site is completely private, with the rate of expansion of the prairie a few miles early foot. In addition to the basic orientation toward the river, a few other details emphasizing themes like home. First, the garage door was painted blue to match the owner’s favorite kayak. I like the house. It has a nice mix of materials and an artful composition. Something wrong with that fence however. It makes it feel like you are entering a prison.
