Hill house always becomes a house that should be built based on the great architecture work. The sloping land and the unstable area may make the house in risk when built without a great architectural plan. The Hill House by David Coleman can give ideas and inspirations to anyone who is going to have a project of a hill house. Located in Winthrop, Washington, the hill house was built on 2,100 sq. ft. land and on the 20’ wide x 115’ long platform. The architect should design the house well so that it fits the narrow area.
The hill house architecture was designed well to make the house becoming comfortable living space both in all seasons; with right exterior functions and warm interior design. Gabion stone walls were built between the house and the landscape for the purpose of safety as well as privacy. The hill house was also built with eco-friendly materials such as the recycled steel, harvested wood, on demand hot water consuming, and heat convection. The hill house by David Coleman reflects much about back-to-nature concept. via
