Good Looking Building Design of Mine Workers’ Housing by Zon-e Arquitectos

This housing is specially built for mine workers in Cerredo, Asturias, Spain. The state subsidized housing is nice dwelling with good looking architectural. Designed by Zon-e Arquitectos , the housing is built in the heart of Cantabrian Mountain; a mining town where no residential ever built in last 25 years.

The architecture design of the housing is quite unique and good looking. Built in perpendicular L shape and two storeys, the first level of the housing building is designed bigger facing the main road of the town. The housing building is designed in angular shape as the town planning regulations as well as following the mountain shape, organism that maybe disturbs from the mountainside, and terrified object.

The geometry of the housing building is clearly seen for the dark color finishing like a coal that absorbs the light. The cube galleries on the building façade are interesting part of the housing containing 15 apartments in various sizes. The cubes are designed in herringbone pattern and functioned as the exchanger of light and heat as well as giving magnificent view of the Asturias’ landscape. via
